Education is the responsibility of the federal states. Each state decides which teaching qualifications exist, which subjects you can combine and how the degree ends. In some states it ends with the first state examination, in others with a bachelor's and a Master of Education.
You usually study two school subjects or specialisms plus educational science. Primary and special needs education have their own rules. Music, art and sport usually require an aptitude test.
If you may want to teach in another state later, find out early how that state recognises your qualification. Details come from the institutions' own websites, and the institution's page is authoritative.
