Medicine and dentistry end with a state examination (Staatsexamen). At public universities, places are allocated nationally through hochschulstart.de. Alongside school grades, universities may consider test results or completed vocational training. Some private institutions offer medicine with their own selection process and tuition fees.
Nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and midwifery are mostly taught at universities of applied sciences. Some programmes lead to a state licence to practise and include clinical placements; others require completed vocational training. The programme description says which applies.
Details come from the institutions' own websites, and the institution's page is authoritative.
