Bavaria has public universities in Munich, Würzburg, Erlangen-Nuremberg, Regensburg, Augsburg, Bamberg, Bayreuth and Passau, among others, as well as the Technical University of Munich. There are also many universities of applied sciences and technical universities of applied sciences, art and music colleges, and church-run institutions such as the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.
Teacher training in Bavaria ends with the first state examination. Many universities of applied sciences offer dual programmes.
At public institutions you usually pay no tuition for a first degree, only a semester contribution. Bavarian law allows institutions to charge tuition to students from outside the EU; each institution's page says whether it does. Details come from the institutions' own websites, and the institution's page is authoritative.
